ATELIERJONES ON MARKETPLACE

A pleasure talking to David Brancaccio for Marketplace about using CLT to design fire-hardened structures.

On the one year anniversary of the Eaton Fire in Altadena, where David and thousands of others lost their homes, Marketplace is producing an eight-part series on the aftermath of the fire and efforts to rebuild.

atelierjones is continuing the work begun with the Sierra Institute in the wake of the 2021 Dixie Fire to design resilient mass timber homes in the face of the increasing wildfire danger in the 21st century. Through the intertwined practices of better design and better forest management, we can make the Wildland Urban Interface safer and more ecologically resilient.
